The main purpose of the visit was to study the possibilities of cooperation between South Africa and the Chelyabinsk Region and industrial potential. At the Chelyabinsk Metallurgical Plant, the guests were shown a modern rail and structural mill, they were introduced to the possibilities of producing rail and shaped products, including 100-meter rails for high-speed traffic.
“The participants appreciated the scale of production and modern technologies. The plant uses polymer hardening of rails, which is unique for Russia. ChMK's heat-strengthened rails retain their high performance characteristics in any climatic zone. They are in demand both in Russia and abroad ”, - comments Vladimir Kapnin, Chief Engineer of ChMK PJSC.
