According to meteorologists, in the middle and lower reaches of the Belaya, the maximum water level is predicted to be 40-100 cm lower than usual, in the upper reaches and the basin of the Urals - within normal limits. However, with a sharp increase in air temperature and heavy rains on the rivers, ice jams and an increase in the water level are possible.
A large complex of measures is being taken at the BMK on the eve of floods. At the hydrotechnical structure (GTS), through which water is discharged from the Beloretsk reservoir, the mechanical and electrical equipment, gates are checked, stocks of rubble and rubble are formed. Wooden piles located in front of the GTS and preventing large ice floes and various debris from getting into it were cleared of ice. In addition, the specialists of the plant promptly clean the sewers, storm water inlets, ditches, free the factory roads from snow and ice. This helps to prevent flooding of the territory of the enterprise. The rescue boats are also being revised, equipment is being prepared for rescue operations and the supply of drinking water to the shops.
“By the onset of a real flood, the plant will be 100% ready. In April, the BMK will host a meeting of the Emergency Situations Commission and special exercises on the interaction of subdivisions during a flood, ”said Chief Engineer of BMK JSC Veniamin Ulyanov.
