At the Sibkabel plant (part of the Cable Alliance Holding, which unites the cable assets of UMMC), new equipment worth 390,000 euros has been installed.
36-spool braiding machine by SPIRKA Schellflechter (Germany) according to its own technical parameters surpasses other similar machines. Its capabilities allow braiding cables with a maximum diameter of 65 mm. On existing equipment, the limitation was 40 mm. In addition, the new machine is multifunctional: it can be equipped with a screen that protects the cable from the influence of "neighboring" electric fields, and anti-torsion winding made of polyester threads. The latter helps the cable to withstand high tensile loads. Here, on the new equipment, protective armor from copper and galvanized steel wires is applied.
“The machine is equipped with all the necessary control devices for basic functions: braid pitch, length worked out, breakage and operating hours sensors. But the main advantage is the high speed of application of braiding materials, which will increase the production of cable products, "said Roman Khabarov, head of the prospective development bureau of the chief technologist of Sibcable JSC.
First of all, we are talking about cables for mining industry, including those produced according to the new requirements of Rostechnadzor. In October 2016, the ministry tightened safety regulations in coal mines by ordering miners to use improved cable products. According to them, the cable supplying mobile machines and mechanisms should be automatically de-energized at the slightest damage to the sheath. Previously, this happened if the insulation was touched and there was a high risk of a short circuit.
Sibkabel, together with specialists from the Tomsk Research, Design and Technological Cable Institute (NIKI), was one of the first in Russia to start developing and production of new cable designs under the HoldMie brand. “The launch of the new braiding machine will allow us to increase our production of improved cable designs for miners. The modern control and monitoring system installed on the new equipment will ensure the manufacture of cables at a high technological level that meets international standards and consumer requirements, ”stressed Alexey Zhuzhin, director of Sibcable JSC.
