Certificates totaling 60 thousand rubles from OJSC "Sredneuralsky copper smelter" (an enterprise of the metallurgical competition of UMMC) received two best finalists of the competition of research projects of students and young scientists "Eurasia gree "within the framework of the X Eurasian Economic Youth Forum. The award ceremony was held at the Ural State Economic University (Ekterinburg).
Deputy Director of SUMZ OJSC - Chief Ecologist Marina Sycheva presented awards to the winner in the category "Environmental Responsibility of Government and Business" to a 4th year student of the Financial University at government of the Russian Federation (Moscow) to 22-year-old Yuri Zelenkov, who studied the national policy of green financing of China, analyzed the experience and assessed the prospects, and the winner in the nomination "Environmental culture and worldview" to 29-year-old USUE master student Andrey Ampilogov from Yekaterinburg, who presented a development project ecological tourism in the specially protected areas of Lake Baikal.
- There are several places on Earth that are simply beautiful, one of them is Baikal, - Andrey Ampilogov told about his work. - Initially, this is a project of artists, they show the world their idea: Baikal as a place where many cultures, people join, a place where everything is combined! We go to other cities, talk, show, and people begin to see Baikal, the ecology in a different way, begin to understand how not to harm nature. Since 2012, we have been building ice labyrinths in the middle of the lake in winter. This year we lived in yurts, there were kilometers of water under us, this is a special feeling, not like living on earth.
Both winners participate in “Eurasia gree” for the first time, they say that they were pleasantly surprised by the geography competition, strong reports, interesting thoughts, suggestions and, of course, prizes from SUMZ, which they decided to spend on continuing their research. Yuri admitted that he needs a new laptop to work, and a certificate for 30 thousand rubles is a good addition of financial resources for his purchase. Andrey said that he would consult with his wife, most likely, the money would be sent to a trip to Lake Baikal.

20 projects of students and young scientists from Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Russia reached the final of "Eurasia gree". The participants presented the results of research and proposals on the creation of biodegradable materials, waste recycling, the organization of environmental campaigns and the process of environmental education, the development of specially protected natural areas, alternative energy sources. The work was evaluated by the Expert Council, which included representatives of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Sverdlovsk Region, business and science - scientists from Russia and Hungary.
