During the years of his leadership, a 2000 hot rolling mill was put into operation. the construction of a coke oven gas purification and processing workshop was completed, the morally and physically obsolete open-hearth workshops and blooming No. 3 were closed, which opened up opportunities for MMK to renovate and reconstruct and reduce the environmental burden on the environment. Anatoly Ilyich headed the regional Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, was a member of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the first convocation from the Chelyabinsk region, a member of the Federation Council Committee on Constitutional Legislation and Judicial and Legal Issues.

The continuous hot strip mill 2500 is one of the most productive rolling mills of MMK. He has been working at the plant since December 1960. Since 2007, in the conditions of existing production, its large-scale reconstruction has been carried out, which was completed this year. The implementation of this project made it possible to significantly expand the size and grade assortment of the mill, improve the quality of products and increase the mill's productivity to 5.2 million tonnes of products per year. The completely renewed mill 2500 will become a worthy token of memory of the outstanding production manager who made a huge contribution to the development of the city and the mill.
