Modern filter presses have been introduced at MMSK

Mednogorsk (Orenburg region)

At the Mednogorsk copper-sulfuric plant (an enterprise of the metallurgical complex of the UMMC), a project has been implemented to replace the filtering equipment. New filter presses from Shadog Jigji Evirometal Protectio Equipmet Co. Ltd ", China (supplier of JSC" Ridtek ", Moscow) are mounted at the dust processing section of the sulfuric acid workshop. The amount of capital investments is about 41.2 million rubles.

The filtration area of the new equipment is almost twice as large as the previous one - 240 m2. Its launch will reduce the cost of trucking and processing of wet copper cake.

- Replacement of equipment will increase zinc recovery by reducing the moisture content in copper cake will lead to an increase in marketable output. In addition, the re-equipment of the site will expand the list of potential suppliers of raw materials, - says the general director of MMSK Andrey Ibragimov.

Modern filter presses allow solving production problems with less effort - with the introduction of equipment since the beginning of the year, it was possible to free up three staff units of service staff.

- The new equipment is much more convenient to work with. Older filter presses had to manually clean the press. Here, the whole process takes place automatically. The readings of the operating parameters are displayed on the monitor of the control cabinet, says Stanislav Savchenkov, the hydrometallurgist of MMSK.

Currently, zinc sulfate, which the plant produces, uses the Gaiskiy and Uchalinskiy GOKs for enrichment of copper-zinc ores. Copper cake is returned to the briquetting section of the copper smelting shop, where it is added to the batch during briquette production. Since 2015, in addition to the semi-products of the production of blister copper by MMSK, the ash from the electrostatic precipitators of the Sredneuralsky copper smelter has been included in the processing.

Replacement of the filtering equipment has become an example of the successful implementation of the investment project ahead of schedule. We add that for the full implementation of the approved plan for the long-term development of MMSK until 2020, it is planned to spend about 2.2 billion rubles. It includes seven key objects of modernization of copper smelting production, including technical re-equipment of the Pobeda smelting unit with the organization of bottom blowing, installation of a gas cooler on a shaft furnace, installation of equipment for the second stage of the process oxygen production site, construction of a sulfuric acid warehouse and a garage for defrosting frozen cargo.
