Oskol Electrometallurgical Plant named after A.A. Ugarova (part of the Metalloinvest company) shipped the first batch of steel grinding balls with a nominal diameter of 100 mm to the Lebedinsky GOK.
“The ball rolling mill has entered the production of the declared types of products - balls 100 and 120, - noted the project manager of the SHPS OEMK them. A.A. Ugarova Dmitry Koshelev. - The next tasks facing our plant are to reach the design capacity of 43 thousand tons of rolled steel grinding balls per year and the development of new profiles.
“The supply of grinding balls from colleagues, Oskol metallurgists, is a significant event for our enterprise,” commented Sergey Nemykin, chief engineer of Lebedinsky GOK. “Now we will be able not to depend on external suppliers, to receive balls of the highest hardness from Metalloinvest steel for our mills, and most importantly, we will be confident in the quality of our products.”
The grand opening of the OEMK ball rolling mill took place in October this year. Metalloinvest's investments in the project amounted to about 1 billion rubles. The main technological equipment was supplied by the Chinese engineering company WISDRI.
OEMK produces balls with a nominal diameter of 100 and 120 mm, weighing 4.6 and 8 kg and hardness groups 2 - 3 in accordance with GOST 7524-2015.
Transition to grinding balls produced by OEMK im. A.A. Ugarov allows to reduce the cost of iron ore raw materials of Lebedinsky and Mikhailovsky GOKs by optimizing supply logistics, reducing transport costs and guaranteed product quality.
