On March 18, within the framework of his visit to Belarus, OJSC “BMZ, the managing company of the holding“ BMK ”, was visited by a member of the Board (Minister) for Industry and Agroindustrial Complex of the Eurasian Economic Commission Artak Kadzhikovich Kamalyan.

During a meeting with the management BMZ EEC Minister discussed promising directions for the development of the metallurgical industry and problematic aspects of its functioning. Then he got acquainted with the activities of the enterprise. Artak Kamalyan visited the shops of steel-making and section rolling production.

& bsp; & bsp; “Our goal is to understand how things are with the provision of scrap metal in Belarus and, in particular, at its main specialized production - BMZ,” Artak Kamalyan said in a conversation with journalists. - The fact is that over the past six months our commission has been actively studying the topic of providing Eurasian enterprises with scrap metal. The issue of adopting a plan that will allow this process to be carried out at an optimal level is under discussion.

& bsp; & bsp; It should be noted that among the countries that are members of the EAEU, BMZ actively cooperates with companies in the Russian Federation. Russia is an important supplier of basic raw materials and one of the largest consumers of Belarusian metal products. So, in January-February of this year, BMZ exports to the Russian Federation exceeded 58 thousand tons, which is 8% more than the same period in 2020. In monetary terms, exports to the Russian Federation exceeded $ 43 million, which is a third more than the same level of 2020. Sales growth is observed for such types of metal products as rebar, structural steel, steel wire and steel cord.
