As part of the agreement, the Mechel Group is implementing an environmental program at the enterprises of the Chelyabinsk industrial site until 2024. Investments will amount to about 10 billion rubles, while emissions of pollutants will decrease by 14.2 thousand tons per year.

Recently, the Chelyabinsk "Mechel " production site ended independent environmental audit. Experts of the Research Institute "Atmosphere" conducted a comprehensive survey of industrial facilities, including emission sources, gas treatment facilities, studied wastewater discharges, waste disposal conditions. The results of the audit showed that the volumes of harmful emissions to which the Mechel enterprises located in Chelyabinsk are entitled have been established correctly. The results of the environmental audit were taken into account in the implementation of the program.
