A new railway crane KZh-562, manufactured by JSC "Kirovsky Machine-Building Plant on May 1", has been delivered to the Mednogorsk Copper and Sulfur Combine (an enterprise of the metallurgical complex of UMMC). It was purchased for the railroad shop as part of a new equipment acquisition plan. The cost of the equipment was about 22 million rubles.
The KZh-562 universal railway crane has a lifting capacity of 25 tons, an outreach of 15 meters, and a capacity of at least 106 t /h. It is self-propelled, powered by its own 100 kW diesel generator set.
Compared to a similar crane of the previous modification operating in the workshop, KZh-561 has improved performance characteristics. Its cab is equipped with air conditioning, it has improved visibility and increased noise isolation. The crane is controlled by joysticks. The advantage of this technique is the presence of an electromagnet, which allows loading /unloading scrap metal and moving metal structures. Also, a new grab was purchased for the new crane.
- With the introduction of an additional unit of lifting equipment, we will be able to increase the productivity of unloading operations, reduce the downtime of the Russian Railways fleet cars and ensure the continuity of the technical process, - explained the senior mechanic of the railway center Anatoly Bokov. p>
Today, in the fleet of railway lifting equipment Mednogorsk copper-sulfur the plant has four pieces of equipment. The purchase of an additional crane is associated with the expected increase in the volume of unloading work from the wagons after the completion of the construction of a garage for defrosting frozen cargo and the transition to year-round delivery of raw materials to the plant by rail. It is expected that from October 2019 (the estimated date of completion of the facility), MMSK will be able to deliver copper concentrate and clinker from UMMC enterprises by rail, including in winter. So far, raw materials are transported on trains only in the summer, since in the cold, bulk goods freeze on the road. Investments in a garage for “defrosting” are estimated at 148 million rubles, with a payback period of 1.8 years.
