A traditional environmental campaign took place at the Novomariinskoye reservoir, during which the employees of PJSC SUMZ (an enterprise of the UMMC metallurgical complex) released 10 thousand carp fingerlings.
The action was organized within the framework of the Agreement on Cooperation in the Field of Environmental Protection between the Government of the Sverdlovsk Region and SUMZ.
- The Ministry of Natural Resources has repeatedly participated in such events, and now we gratefully accepted the invitation from the Sredneuralsk Copper Smelter and Director Bagir Valerievich Abdulazizov. For us, SUMZ is an important partner in reducing environmental risks in the region, and the plant is also one of the brightest examples of eco-leadership in making the environment better and cleaner, ”stressed Veronika Rusinova, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Sverdlovsk Region. p>
Restoring aquatic biological resources and their habitat, SUMZ has been populating the reservoirs of the Sverdlovsk region with fish since 2011. Over ten years, 11 stocking took place, the enterprise released over 2.1 million fish into the Chusovaya, Novomariinsky and Revdinsky ponds, including whitefish, sterlet, grass carp, silver carp, pike perch, carp. The total cost of stocking fish amounted to about 7 million rubles.
- What we see today is the final stage, it was preceded by a lot of work, - explained the head of the Ural branch of the Federal State Budgetary Scientific Institution All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography "Kirill Ershov. - The specialists of our institute have monitored this reservoir. That is, we decided on the basis of the food supply, from the size of the reservoir with the number and types of fish that can be launched. The goal is multifaceted: so that there are more fish, and the reservoir is cleaner, and so that it is good for fishermen, and for nature too.
The effectiveness of measures for the reproduction of valuable fish species is confirmed by the Research Institute of the Federal Agency for Fishery.
- We will continue this action, it is very important for us, - said Bagir Abdulazizov, director of PJSC SUMZ. - We want our reservoirs to be clean, so we specially choose such fish crops. Plus, this is leisure for our workers, for the residents of Revda - they will come to fish.
Juveniles of carp weighing over 20 grams are grown in the Zelenoborsk fish hatchery, producers from the Saratov region, from the Teplovsky fish hatchery, known for being there before the revolution bred trout for the royal table. The fish stock was delivered to the place of release in the so-called "live" machines. In the body of the car there are special tanks with water, into which oxygen is supplied and a constant temperature is maintained.
