"Svyatogor" continues the ecological campaign for stocking the northern reservoirs

Krasnouralsk (Sverdlovsk region)

JSC "Svyatogor" (an enterprise of the metallurgical complex of the UMMC) continues its ecological campaign to stock the northern reservoirs of the Sverdlovsk region. So, on the eve, thousands of young of the year sterlet and carp were released into the reservoirs of Ivdel and Severouralsk. The restoration of biological resources took place within the framework of the program of environmental protection measures of Svyatogor JSC.

- For the tenth year in a row, the town-forming enterprise of Krasnouralsk continues the good tradition of stocking water bodies in places where it conducts its economic activities, - said the Deputy Director for Mining - Aleksey Bachurin, head of the mining department of Svyatogor JSC. “During these September days, we are launching more than 6,500 juvenile carp into Lake Svetloye, and 10,000 young of the year sterlet into the Lozva River. We hope that all of them will take root in these places.

All fry are grown in the Chelyabinsk region: carp - at Chebarkulskiy Rybzavod CJSC, sterlet - at Aquakultura LLC (Magnitogorsk).

The fish arrived at the place of stocking by special flights, having overcome the many kilometers route. As the transporters of the valuable cargo assured, during the journey, the 50-gram babies were provided with increased oxygen comfort.

- We reached the place without loss, - smiled the fish breeder of the Chebarkul fish factory Rimma Sagitova. - In the course of stocking, the “withdrawal” is zero. Fortunately, there have been absolutely no emerging fish.

According to fish farmers, both sterlet and carp are very popular for stocking. Enterprises are actively using this fish to restore the aquatic environment.

“It's nice that for many years Svyatogor JSC has been increasing the ichthyofauna of northern rivers,” noted Arten Soroka, a leading ichthyologist of the chief fish breeder in the Sverdlovsk and Chelyabinsk regions. - The larger the detachment of freshwater, the better the condition of our reservoirs. Here, in the rivers of the northern region, pike, perch, roach are found ... Their increase to carp and sterlet leads to a more complete use of the base of the aquatic environment.
