Many manufacturers of engines and complex mechanisms strictly regulate the torque with which bolts and nuts must be tightened so that the equipment can work without failures and emergencies. High quality torque wrench with fine tuning will allow mechanics to work with bolts and nuts of almost any standard diameter. Made of durable steel, it is almost impossible to damage under normal conditions.
Peculiarities of everyday use
Because this is an important tool, it is not recommended to use it for normal loosening and tightening nuts. Only in cases where it is necessary to tighten the threaded fastener with the most precise torque. This is where a modern torque wrench is required. Do not tighten nuts or bolts based only on your own feelings. As practice shows, this does not lead to anything good. The main advantages of a torque wrench are:
- Fine tuning over a wide range.
- Standard socket for fastening end caps.
- Extremely strong chrome molybdenum steel.
- Key setting works for right and left hand threads.
- The product is maintenance free.
Important: a fairly simple design can be wrong in the force of the tightening torque by no more than 4%. Such an insignificant error does not negatively affect the operation of the engine or an important mechanism. On the contrary, the absence of a torque wrench adversely affects the reliability of the repair or scheduled maintenance.
Wrench operation areas
Almost any car and truck repair shop needs at least one dyno. The technical inspection station cannot guarantee its customers the quality of the work performed if the most critical moments in the assembly of the engine or its individual components are performed without following the recommendations of the vehicle manufacturer. The wrench is also useful in other areas:
- tightening threaded connections in production;
- repair of motorcycles or scooters;
- restoration of industrial motors;
- when working with the most important details.
The relatively high cost of the key pays off in practice. After correct and, most importantly, accurate tightening of threaded connections, their spontaneous unwinding is not observed in the future. Breakage of studs or bolts, due to excessive tightening of the thread with a conventional socket or box wrench.
