Full processing cycle: how to get a finished part from drawing to installation in one place

Almost always, to obtain a complex metal part, it is necessary to go through a whole range of operations – from cutting the workpiece to final processing and quenching, which sometimes requires cooperation with several contractors who specialize in a certain part of the services and create the need to additionally build a certain "logistics chain": Metal supplier → 2. Cutting → 3. Bending → 4. Turning → 5. Heat treatment → 6. Final welding/installation.

This problem is faced by a large number of industries that receive a number of inconveniences and problems.:

  • Loss of time: downtime during transportation, waiting in line.

  • Increased risks: the possibility of damage to the part during transportation or errors in the transfer of drawings.

  • Cost increase: each transportation and the involvement of a new counterparty increases the cost.

But there are companies that offer comprehensive solutions and provide a full cycle of metalworking. Among them is the Ukrainian TD TAM company, which gives its customers not only the opportunity to receive metal, but also the entire range of services for its processing: from metal storage to the final transfer of the finished product.

Thus, the process of working with the company includes the following stages::

The first stage: material preparation and cutting

The company's warehouses have more than 2,000 tons of rolled and long products of various brands, which allows customers to receive the necessary material or a finished product from it in a fairly short time – without delays associated with waiting for delivery.

To prepare the material for the manufacture of the necessary parts, a number of services are used, including:

  • CNC laser cutting: used to produce parts with high-precision contours and workpieces up to 20 mm thick.;

  • CNC plasma cutting: necessary for fast and economical cutting of medium and thick metals (usually up to 50 mm);

  • gas cutting: for extra-thick metals (up to 250 mm).

Already at this stage, it is possible to ensure accuracy, which minimizes the need to correct errors in subsequent stages.

The second stage: mechanical and contour processing

Even after perfect cutting, the parts often require high-precision finishing. Therefore, the use of turning and milling machines with numerical control (CNC) helps here, which can perform work of any complexity, providing accuracy up to 0.01 mm.

With the help of turning operations, we manufacture shafts, axles, bushings, flanges, fittings and other rotating bodies.

Milling works help to create grooves, flat surfaces, and process
