Chinese automaker Chery Holding Group Co., Ltd. reported a rapid increase in sales of new energy vehicles (NEV) in the period from January to April of this year.
Chery sold 68,587 NEV units in the first four months of 2022, up 168.5% from a year earlier, according to a company report. At the same time, in April alone, NEV sales increased by 81.2% year-on-year to 15,533 units.
The company also noted strong demand from countries such as Brazil, Saudi Arabia and Chile. In the first four months of this year, the company exported 84,993 vehicles, up 12.6 percent. more than in the same period last year.
From January to April 2022, a total of 284,865 Chery vehicles were sold, up 0.9% year-on-year.
