General Director of the Belarusian Metallurgical Plant (BMZ) Dmitry Korchik announced 100% utilization of pipe production and an expected 50% increase in the production of hardware by the end of 2023. This topic became the main topic at the meeting of the general director of BMZ and the team of ESPC-2.
Dmitry Korchik noted that the metallurgical enterprise operated successfully for three quarters of 2023 and with a net profit. During this period, steel production and production increased, and exports increased by more than 120%.
“We also plan to end the year with positive dynamics and net profit. I will say more - the business plan for 2024, which we will soon consider at the Ministry of Industry, also includes growth in the production of our products. As you know, not long ago the Metal-Expo 2023 exhibition was held in Moscow, as a result of which many contracts and agreements were signed. And for almost the entire first half of 2024, we have serious orders from Russian consumers. Thus, in pipe production the utilization rate is already 100%, in the hardware direction we expect an increase to 50% (let me remind you that in 2023 it was 30%). We have a lot of orders for fittings and rolled products,” said Korchik.
The general director also noted that BMZ continues to diversify markets and increase the volume of supplies to the Russian Federation and countries friendly to Belarus.
