08.07.2026TMK at INNOPROM shared its experience in forming a management reserve
At the International Industrial Exhibition INNOPROM-2026, the Pipe Metallurgical Company (TMK) spoke about the specifics of the functioning of the management reserve training system and the experience of forming leaders within the company.
Elena Pozolotina, TMK's Deputy General Director for Personnel Management and Director of TMK2U Corporate University, took part in the "Leadership in Industrial Companies" round table, organized by "Headhunter". She noted that TMK has built a systematic work with the management reserve at four levels, depending on the competencies and potential of the employee.
"Today, there are more than 5,000 participants in TMK's management reserve, and 70% of them have achieved growth within the company. We have formed a model of managerial competencies, which is a set of skills that a member of the management reserve should possess. Among them are planning and forecasting, decision—making, control, stress tolerance, conflict management, and others. In accordance with the skill assessments, individual development plans are being developed for each reserve participant," said Elena Pozolotina.
In addition, according to her, the management reserve helps to build staffing for processes within the framework of entering new assets into the company's contour. The same level of competence allows you to form teams that will work with maximum efficiency. At the same time, a management reserve is not appropriate in all companies. For example, small organizations with a horizontal structure can perform their business tasks and develop without using a reserve system.
The TMK representative also stressed the importance of the work of assessment centers, tools for the integrated assessment of competencies, in the work on personnel management.
"Every year, more than 100 members of the management reserve undergo a full-fledged assessment center, which means that their competencies are simultaneously evaluated by three to four experts. It is also important that all assessors are calibrated — that is, we can be sure that experts in all cities of TMK's presence have the same level of competence," emphasized Elena Pozolotina.
