Audi is forced to suspend the work of its headquarters in Ingolstadt due to problems with the supply of electronic components. It is reported that work will be halted until the end of August, and then, in September, the company will be forced to significantly cut the production schedule.
This will lead to the fact that about 6 thousand employees of the enterprise will be transferred to a shorter working day.
However, the German company is also preparing for the fact that the supply of chips will improve and it will be necessary to introduce additional shifts on weekends.
In the first half of this year, a deficit in the supply of microcircuits led to the fact that Audi was unable to ship about 50 thousand cars for which orders were placed.
The problem of the shortage of electronic components has affected the entire automotive industry and continues to be a deterrent for automakers.
