Brazil's Ministry of Commerce, Mdic, has missed scheduled deadlines for rulings on at least two ongoing anti-dumping investigations into steel imports, and new dates have not yet been announced.

The Secex Foreign Trade Secretariat planned to make decisions on both cases in November, but these dates passed without official notification. The ministry did not immediately disclose the reason for the delay.

"Customers have refrained from new orders in order to understand what the real costs will be after the introduction of protective measures in trading," the trader said.

The research covered cold-rolled steel (CR) from China and pre-painted steel from China and India. The studies were launched in August and September, respectively.

The anti-dumping investigations in Brazil must be completed within 18 months, so the secretariat has until February 2027 and March 2027 to publish the final decisions.

Brazil postponed another completion of the investigation in July, postponing it from October to January 12, due to the continued import of coated steel from China.
