He suggested holding a meeting at the state level to sort out the market situation and draw up a balance of scrap consumption. In addition, he considers the plans to increase VAT on scrap operations to be incorrect.
Sergey Vovk, CEO of Ukrmet-Invest LLC, noted that his company had fired 150 employees due to the de facto ban on scrap exports.

"We have closed two terminals, a port and 10 sites. But one should not close one's eyes when there is no opportunity to sell products on the domestic market. A compromise solution is to introduce an export quota of up to 200 thousand. Tons for the supply of scrap to the EU," Kleshchinsky said.
