On July 21, 2021, at 19 hours 40 minutes, on the horizon of 660 meters of the Smolinskaya uranium mine (Kirovograd region, Ukraine), a fire broke out with a loader-haul truck RMKT 8000 (PAUS). At the time of the fire, there were 44 people in the mine, 8 of them in the immediate vicinity of the fire.
According to the press service of the state enterprise "VostGOK", which includes the mine, item 21 of the "Accident Elimination Plan" was activated. All employees were brought to the surface, no one was injured. The fire was extinguished at 21 hours 43 minutes.
After aeration of mine workings and bringing the quality of mine air to the requirements of regulatory documents, the mine resumed work. Currently working normally.
By order of the acting Director General dated 22.07.2021 No. 296 at the mine, a commission to investigate the state of emergency was created.
The Smolinskaya mine develops the Vatutinskoye uranium deposit. Founded in April 1972. Ore deposits are mined at depths of 70 to 640 meters. Production capacity - 450 thousand tons of ore per year.
