China urged the US to stop looking for any more excuses and take immediate action to correct mistakes in trade practices towards China after the World Trade Organization (WTO) ruled in China's favor, the Chinese Ministry of Commerce said on Thursday.
On January 26, the WTO decided that China has the right to impose additional duties on US goods in the amount of $645 million a year due to the United States' non-compliance with the rules of the organization.
"This ruling is of great importance in correcting the situation with US anti-dumping duties on imports of Chinese goods, as well as protecting the legitimate trade interests of Chinese companies and protecting multilateral trading systems," the Ministry of Commerce emphasized.
China is now eligible for the second time to impose punitive tariffs on U.S. imports, the agency said.
