Donald Trump and lawmakers reach agreement on "opening" the activities of the US government

January 26, Washington. On the eve of the weekend, the US President announced that the work of federal officials was resumed. The relevant bill was unanimously approved by Congress and promptly signed by Trump. It is focused on a short-term restoration of the work of the government of the country for a period of three weeks, until February 15.

Trump has pledged to pay salaries to federal employees who continued to work during the 35-day cut of government funding. As already noted in the media, it broke all duration records.

The deal apparently did not include Donald Trump's demand for funds (on the order of $ 6 billion) to fund the steel wall on the US-Mexico border. However, he said that lawmakers in the House and Senate would "work on border security issues." And he hinted that he was considering the possibility of taking unilateral measures or initiating another cessation of funding if negotiations on the construction of a metal barrier on the US-Mexican border fail by February 15.
