AVTOVAZ has resumed the production of LADA Granta cars equipped with airbags for the driver and front passenger. This was reported in the press service of the automaker.
From August 23, all LADA Granta cars of the 2022 model year, starting from the basic configuration, are equipped with a driver's airbag. In more "older" versions, cars can additionally be equipped with a front passenger airbag and front belts with pretensioners. The design and settings of the security system, as well as the steering wheel with an airbag, are similar to those used previously on LADA Granta.
According to the President of JSC AVTOVAZ, Maxim Sokolov, the resumption of production of cars with airbags in the face of a shortage of electronic components and sanctions pressure is a real victory for the entire AVTOVAZ team and the company's partners.
“We will continue to expand the list of equipment of our vehicles with comfort and safety features, and we will make every effort to complete this work in a short time. I am also grateful to the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia for the effective state program of concessional lending, under which our cars can be purchased with a profit of 20-25%. This significantly strengthens the demand in the market and provides the plant with stable operation,” Sokolov said.
