Due to the significant volatility of the exchange rate, the prevailing unfavorable conditions in the ferroalloy markets, a significant drop in consumer demand, and in order to ensure the financial and economic stability of CHEMK, an anti-crisis program is being implemented, under which, from September 1, the administrative staff of all structural divisions (daily work schedule) will be transferred to a part-time job (four days a week). until the end of 2025, TASS reports with reference to the company.

In total, the new measure will affect 1.2 thousand people, the company added.

"No staff reductions are planned, the main task of the measures being taken is to preserve the workforce and prevent production from stopping. If the market situation improves and the exchange rate stabilizes, anti-crisis measures will be reviewed."

Chelyabinsk Electrometallurgical Combine is the largest producer of ferroalloys in Russia. In accordance with the implemented court decision on the complete withdrawal of shares of three plants in favor of the Russian Federation, the shares of each plant currently belong to the Federal Agency for State Property Management.

CHEMK includes the Vladivostok branch of Vladprom, which provides port storage and transshipment services, as well as the Mining Management Company (Kharp settlement, Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District), which produces chromium ore. In addition, the Intinsky site "Manganese Komi" (Inta city, Komi Republic), which carries out geological work, and the Zlatoust transport site (Magnitogorsk village, Chelyabinsk Region) are included.
