By the end of 2025, Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works produced almost 18 thousand tons of galvanized pipes, which was the maximum result of the annual production of this type of product during the operation of the hot-dip galvanizing unit of the sheet rolling shop No. 8.

The previous record (17.4 thousand tons), set in 2024, was surpassed by 3.4%. The automated galvanizing unit for electric-welded steel water and gas pipes was commissioned in 2001. The technical parameters of the coating thickness vary according to the specified program and taking into account the wishes of consumers.
Hot-dip galvanized pipes with anti-corrosion coating are 2-2.5 times more reliable and durable than conventional ones. Due to their corrosion-resistant surface, such pipes have a wider range of applications, so the demand for them is growing every year.
Last year, a smart monitoring system for manufactured galvanized pipes was introduced at LPC-8. The digital project, based on artificial intelligence and machine vision technologies, is aimed at optimizing work processes and improving the quality of customer service. The system recognizes pipes of various diameters, counting them with an accuracy of 99.6%.
