the Department of domestic market protection of Eurasian economic Commission extended a special protective investigation in respect of welded tubes of stainless steel imported into the customs territory of the Eurasian economic Union up to January 3, 2020.
About the beginning of the investigation was announced in late February 2019. Its object - pipes and tubes, of circular cross-section welded, of stainless steel with an outer diameter from 6 mm to 115 mm and a wall thickness of from 0.4 to 6 mm, inclusive, and hollow profiles welded, of stainless steel maximum size 140х140 mm and a wall thickness of from 0.4 to 6 mm. the Products is classified codes 7306 40 200 9, 7306 40 800 1, 7306 40 800 8, 7306 61 100 9 and 7306 69 100 9 HS.
among the initiators of the investigation, the Russian pipe company TMK-INOX, "Butinox", Marcegaglia Ru, TECHNO TUB.
According to the applicants, the significant increase in imports of stainless steel pipes (in 2015-2018 - by 41.4%), made of foreign iron and steel companies (key suppliers are China, Italy, Vietnam), as well as the shift from 2018 flows of export goods from the markets of USA, EU and Turkey caused a decline in revenues from Russian producers.
