The first of four Visakhapatnam-class destroyers, the 15B stealth missile destroyer, has been added to the Indian fleet.

Project 15V destroyers are equipped with two gas turbine units М36Е produced by the Ukrainian machine-building state holding Zarya - Mashproekt. For the first time, the company has introduced a new microprocessor control system on the engines.

Structurally, the 15B project is the development of ships of projects 15 (Delhi type) and 15A (Kolkata type), previously built for the Indian Navy. The ship is 163 meters long, 17 meters wide and has a displacement of 7,400 tons and can be considered one of the most powerful warships built in India.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi called the day of commissioning of the new Indian destroyer "Happy Day for India".

The steel supplier for the vessel was ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India.
