The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted a resolution according to which gas producing companies are obliged to sell on the exchange 20% of the gas produced in Ukraine during the quarantine period, but no longer than May 1, 2022.
The corresponding decision, which amends the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 1236 "On the establishment of quarantine and the introduction of restrictive anti-epidemic measures in order to prevent the spread in Ukraine of the acute respiratory disease COVID-19 caused by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus" was adopted at a meeting on December 30 and comes into force from the date of its publication - December 31.
“The government introduced temporary restrictions due to the need to stabilize the situation on the gas market. Already in January, the companies producing production are to sell about 80 million cubic meters of gas through the exchange. The corresponding norm will be valid for four months. The main buyers will be end consumers - producers of social varieties of bread, flour, milk, butter, eggs, chicken, ”said First Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yulia Sviridenko.
Also, the document establishes the maximum level of the supply and marketing surcharge (supplier's remuneration) to the price of natural gas of its own production (excluding rent payments) at the level of no more than 24 percent to meet the needs of business entities whose main activity is the production of food products that have significant social significance.
The list of such enterprises in accordance with the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 341 "On measures to stabilize prices for goods of significant social significance, anti-epidemic goods" is approved by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food and is published on its official website.
The trade markup for the supply of natural gas of its own production to meet the needs of economic entities is set at 1%.
These restrictions will not apply to natural gas supplied by the enterprises of the Naftogaz group under contracts for the supply /sale of natural gas for the needs of household consumers, heat energy producers, budgetary institutions and organizations, including state-owned health care institutions (state-owned enterprises and /or state institutions, etc.) and health care institutions of communal ownership (communal non-profit enterprises and /or communal institutions and /or joint communal enterprises, etc.), religious organizations, as well as the GTS Operator for the production and technological needs of the Timing Operators.
