Steel production at the Zaporizhstal metallurgical plant in 2021 decreased by 0.1% compared to 2020 to 3.78 million tons. In December, the rate of decline in volumes accelerated to 1.6% yoy to 340.1 thousand tons.
Nevertheless, the general director of Zaporizhstal, Alexander Mironenko, said that his enterprise worked in 2021 with high performance.
“We have multiplied the favorable environment with high order discipline and competitive quality of our products. All this allowed us to continue to invest in modernizing the plant and protecting the team from COVID-19. The same success is at the heart of ambitious plans for 2022, in which Zaporizhstal will continue environmental modernization and increase production efficiency, ”said Mironenko.
Last year, Zaporizhstal also maintained the same level of pig iron smelting (4,473.5 thousand tons) and production of finished rolled products (3,204.0 thousand tons).
Recall that according to operational data OP" Ukrmetallurgprom ", in 2021 Ukrainian enterprises increased steel production by 3.3% compared to 2020 to 21.30 million tons.
