In January 2021, the production of steel and cast iron at Zaporizhstal slightly decreased. So last month, Metinvest's Zaporizhzhya plant smelted 399.0 thousand tons of pig iron and 336.3 thousand tons of steel, which is 0.2 and 0.5 percent less than in January 2020.
Production of finished rolled metal products at Zaporizhstal in January 2020 decreased by 2.7 percent year on year to 284.1 thousand tons.
In January 2021, the general director of the Zaporizhstal metallurgical plant, Alexander Mironenko, predicted an increase in production volumes compared to last year.
“At the end of 2020, we observed a positive trend in the markets, so in 2021 we hope that we will be able not only to maintain, but also to slightly increase production volumes,” he said in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine.
Let us remind you that in 2020 the Zaporizhstal metallurgical plant produced 4 million 470.6 thousand tons of pig iron, 3 million 783.7 thousand tons of steel and 3 million 203.9 thousand tons of rolled products.
