Dneprovsky Metallurgical Plant, which is part of the DCH group of Kharkiv businessman Oleksandr Yaroslavskyy, continues to operate rolling shops using tolling raw materials, periodically experiencing a shortage of workpieces due to supply disruptions due to shelling by Russian troops.
According to information in the corporate newspaper DCH Steel, rolling shop (RC) No. 2 completed another rolling campaign, which took place in two stages. At the same time, it is specified that the next rolling campaign at PC-2 began in December with an order for the production of 11.5 thousand tons of products.
However, in December 2022, 7.2 thousand tons were rolled due to massive shelling of energy infrastructure facilities, which led to restrictions on electricity, so suppliers of tolling raw materials were forced to suspend its production. As a result, PC-2 also suspended its work.
The partners resumed their work at the end of the year, after the accumulation of raw materials, the DMZ heating furnace was put on heating on January 2, and on January 5, the rolling mill was put into operation and the work was completed order.
In addition, it is reported that the next rolling campaign in PC No. 1 is scheduled for the second decade of January, its volume is 8 thousand tons, the duration is approximately until the third decade of February.
Vitaly Bash, CEO of DCH Steel of the DCH Group, said that DMZ is currently producing coke, rolling mills are working on orders using tolling raw materials, while the metallurgical processing is still idle due to the impossibility of acquiring the required volumes of raw materials.
DMZ specializes in the production of steel, cast iron, rolled products and products from them. On March 1, 2018, the DCH Group signed an agreement on the purchase of the Dneprovsky steel plant from Evraz.
