Ukrainian Coke Plants (KHZ) in January of this year reduced the production of gross coke with 6% moisture content by 3.3 times compared to the same period last year - to 245 thousand tons from 807 thousand tons.
As Anatoliy Starovoit, Director General of the Association of Coke and Chemical Enterprises Ukrkoks (Dnepr), Anatoly Starovoit told Interfax-Ukraine, in December 2022, 198 thousand tons of gross coke were produced, including 171 thousand tons of metallurgical coke. According to him, in January 2023, the production of metallurgical coke in the whole country amounted to 212 thousand tons.
Currently, such enterprises as Yuzhkoks, Kametstal (formerly GKKhZ) produce coke in Ukraine , DMZ (Dneprokoks), Zaporizhkoks and coke production at ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih.
As reported, in 2022, Ukrainian Coke Plants reduced the production of gross coke with 6% moisture content by 59% compared to with the previous year - up to 3.91 million tons, metallurgical coke - 3.354 million tons.
