Ukrainian coking plants reduced gross coke production by 55.2%

Ukrainian coking plants reduced gross coke production by 55.2%

In January-August of the current year, Ukrainian Coke and Chemical Plants (KHZ) reduced the production of gross coke with 6% moisture content by 55.2% compared to the same period last year, to 2.94 million tons. This was reported by the Interfax-Ukraine agency with reference to Anatoly Starovoit, General Director of the Association of Coke-Chemical Enterprises Ukrkoks.

In August, Ukrainian Coke Plant produced 257.7 thousand tons of gross coke, including 221 thousand tons of metallurgical coke. According to Ukrkoks, for 8 months of 2022, the production of metallurgical coke amounted to 2.52 million tons.

As reported, in 2021 Ukraine reduced the production of coke by 1.3% compared to 2020, to 9.543 million tons.
