The issue of developing the biomethane market this week was the subject of discussion at a meeting between the head of the State Energy Efficiency of Ukraine, Anna Zamazeyeva, and Yulia Rybak, co-chair of the Secretariat of the Ukrainian-German Energy Partnership. The parties came to a common vision - to strengthen bilateral partnership and accelerate the development of the biomethane industry in Ukraine.
There are plenty of reasons necessary to accelerate the joint movement. Biomethane production will open up additional opportunities for gas replacement, development of the agricultural sector, decarbonization of the economy and, which is important today, the restoration of the economies of communities.
International partners are also waiting for Ukraine's success in this area. First of all, the European Union, which has set itself an ambitious goal in the production of biomethane and sees Ukraine as one of its key partners.
“Today I am ready to start active cooperation with partners from Germany. Why? Because it is the leader among the EU countries in terms of biomethane production and occupies more than 20% of the entire European market," Chairman Anna Zamazeeva emphasized and outlined Ukraine's achievements in creating conditions for the introduction of the biomethane market.
According to the results of the meeting, the parties agreed accelerate the introduction of a full-fledged register of guarantees of the origin of biomethane, using the Agency's developments and German technology and experience.
