Rinat Akhmetov's Metinvest Group will produce free steel for the Ukrainian trident, which will replace the Soviet emblem on the Motherland monument in Kiev, and will become a financial partner of the monument reconstruction project.

Especially for this project at the Metinvest plant in Zaporozhye, the production of steel grade was restored, from which the entire monument was created in 1981.

The cladding of the Motherland statue was created at Zaporizhstal, and stainless steel sheets were welded into a single whole by specialists from the Institute named after Paton in Kiev.

Now the emblem of the USSR is used in the composition, its dismantling and installation in its place of the sign of the princely state of Vladimir the Great will begin in July and last until August 24 this year.

The reconstruction project The monument is implemented by the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine, which continues the process of de-communization and de-Russification in the country.

The Ukrainian trident on the shield is a three-dimensional structure identical to the old Soviet coat of arms. The trident will be made from two types of metal: Metinvest's stainless steel 1.7 mm thick and foreign-made steel 1.5 mm thick.

The partners and financial donors of the project, in addition to Metinvest, are Monobank, KAN Development, Novaya Pochta, PrivatBank, ATB, Oschadbank.

Funds for reconstruction are being accumulated by the Agency for Cultural Sustainability (ACURE), which cooperates with the Heritage Rescue Headquarters to assist cultural institutions during the Russian military aggression in Ukraine.
