The Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine Tymofiy Mylovanov, following his visit to Washington on October 19, named the main questions, the answers to which, in his opinion, are of most interest to potential investors.
He said that people and business outside Ukraine, in his opinion, are interested in 4 things:
- How independently the new government makes decisions and is there a shadow government that comes into play at critical moments.
- Judicial and law enforcement reform will take place and will they remain under the control of the new government and special interests, as has always been the case.
- How seriously the new government is going to fight against the owners of banks who have caused losses to taxpayers and bank customers.
- Are the rules of the game the same for everyone? Including questions whether the demonopolization and de-oligarchization of Ukraine will take place, and whether all oligarchs will play by the same rules.
“I assured everyone of the positive answers to these four questions. But people want to wait and see if this is the case. If we convince the world, then Ukraine will begin to develop rapidly, we will be flooded with investments, and we will finally become successful. We have such a chance, ”Milovanov said.
“We are on the verge of an economic breakthrough. This was felt at all meetings in the United States. People, business, investors, officials are looking at Ukraine with interest, and everyone recognizes the ability of the new government to change the country. Expectations are high, but everyone wants to take a closer look and make sure for sure, ”T. Milovanov wrote on his Facebook page.
Earlier, Milovanov commented on the talks with the IMF as positive.
“As far as the IMF is concerned, I am very positive. I think we just need to continue working, and in two weeks, I hope, when they come, for a good result, ”he said.
Milovanov added that Ukraine has fulfilled almost everything that is expected of it in the fund.
