Ukraine's largest producer of coking coal, the Pokrovskoye Mine Administration (Donetsk region), part of Rinat Akhmetov's Metinvest group, produced 3.5 million tons of coking coal in January-August of this year.

Since the beginning of this year alone, more than 3.5 million tons of coal have been mined, over 8 km of mine workings have been completed,” said Metinvest CEO Yuri Ryzhenkov during a visit to the Pokrovskoye mine management.
As reported, Pokrovskoye over 5 months of 2024, 2 million tons of coking coal were produced.
Metinvest created the Metinvest Pokrovskugol company, which manages the enterprises of the Pokrovsk Coal Group. The company includes, in particular, the Pokrovskoye mine management and the Svyato-Varvara concentrating plant.
