Tuesday, December 10, the mayor of Mariupol Vadim Boychenko signed a Memorandum of understanding with the Irish company "Altostrata Energy Limited", according to which the city plans to implement an investment project, to build photovoltaic power plants of different capacity.

"the signing of the Memorandum is the result of holding in Mariupol, the first investment forum RE:think. Invest in Ukraine. I was often asked what effect it gave to our city?! This new cooperation in the field of energy – one of the first examples of what gets Mariupol. I am sure that it did not last and we are waiting for new projects. In addition, for the city is another step towards the creation of a Strategy for green sustainable development", - said Vadim Boychenko.

In turn, Director of the company Torsten Merkel said that Mariupol is an attractive investment: "We see that Ukraine is rapidly growing. Guide Mariupol aims to develop the city. For us, as investors, it is very important."

He added that the project aims to use solar energy, but in the future the company wants to do and wind. This will provide the city with high quality but cheap electricity.

the Deputy of the mayor Sergey Orlov focused on administrative reform, which will create Mariupol GSS. so in the city there is a number of promising areas for the development of green energy. He noted that next year will be prepared six similar plots.

according to the official website Altostrata Energy Limited, Torsten Merkel is still the CEO of Pure Energy Intelligence is the initiator of the project on renewable energy and carbon specializing in Russia and the CIS, and is a member of the Advisory Board of the German investment Fund - Mountain Cleantech Invest AG. He has a degree in political science and law at the Technical University of Dresden and the University of Hagen.
