American electric car manufacturer Tesla Inc has lowered the starting price on their Chinese sedan Model 3 16% 050 to 299 yuan (about 42 920 USD) after receiving subsidies from the Chinese government for the production of electric vehicles.
the company said that they plan to begin official deliveries of cars, produced at the Tesla factory in Shanghai on 7 January 2020.
As previously reported, subsidies for the production of all electric vehicles in China will be lifted completely by the end of 2020.
Fifteen employees of Tesla, who purchased the car have already received their cars after the first Chinese car production left the production line in October.
Chinese "Gigaparts" was built during the year and remains today the only Tesla factory outside of the United States.
Earlier this week, the company announced that the Chinese Tesla localized only 30%, which means that the car components are delivered from the US. At the same time, the automaker intends to localize its Chinese supply chain to the end of 2020.
Tesla plans to increase deliveries of Model 3 in January and will double the number of service centers and fast charging stations in China by 2020.
