One of the main partners of the Kryvyi Rih metallurgical became Nikolaev Teplovozoremontny plant (NTRZ), which has established productive cooperation with Ukrainian and foreign manufacturers of various equipment for railway equipment. Thanks to the joint developments on NTRZ began to put on locomotives, diesel engines of world famous companies – American Cummins, Anglo Belgian Corporation ABC etc.
in addition, experts NTRZ began to be installed on locomotives the latest engine control system Heinzmann (Germany), rotary vane compressor of joint production with the Italian company Mattei, modern traction units alternating current ("GP Electrotyazhmash"), a microprocessor control system of locomotive and other equipment.
Joint efforts have borne fruit. Thanks to the "import substitution" in 2018-2019, "ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih" got the chance to recover the 11 locomotives, including the replacement of engines and deep modernization. In addition, the company on the basis of its two locomotive depot was able to overhaul another 16 cars. Only their two-year program for the rehabilitation of 27 locomotives "ArcelorMittal Krivoy Rog" sent about 320 million.
