On the territory of Ukraine 3-5 January 2020 passed a container train from China to the EU, namely to Polish Slavkov. Path truck route passed through the border crossings of the Grain - Izov and took 39 hours and 54 minutes. The first train traveled wide track without overloading at the border. This was announced by the Chairman of the Board of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsya" Evgeny Kravtsov.
Composition consisted of 45 forty-foot containers. Container train left transport hub XI'an in Northwest China 12 days ago. This city was once the beginning of the historic silk road. Today it is one of the most advanced dry ports and logistics centres of the New silk road.
"Route "China - EU" transit through Ukraine is a reliable, cheap and convenient for all participants in this supply chain. And this train is a good sign and an important first step in the organization of large-scale projects with China and Central Asia for Ukrzaliznytsya", - said Evgeny Kravtsov.
He also told about the prospects of such routes.
"Ukrzaliznytsya can be a part of the land route, sea route and TITR (TRANS-Caspian international transport route). Ukrzaliznytsia is the most reliable partner for transit because it offers an alternative and efficient routes", - said the Chairman of the Board of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsya".
Now on the territory of Ukraine ply 33 of the container train, which for 11 months of 2019, carried a 140.6 thousand TEU containers. It's 65% more than in the corresponding period in 2018.
