Ukrzaliznytsia will acquire 30 reserved seat cars for the most popular segment of passenger transportation. The corresponding tender was announced in the Prozorro system on December 31, 2021.
The purchase of the specified rolling stock is carried out using budgetary funds provided for in 2022 as part of the program for the renovation of passenger rolling stock and infrastructure.
“Thanks to the timely adoption of the financial plan for the current year, at the end of last year, we announced a tender for the purchase of a new batch of passenger cars. We are talking about second-class carriages, which the company has not purchased for years and are quite popular with our passengers. Thanks to the purchase of this batch, we will be able to fully form trains from different types of new wagons and offer passengers comfortable trips in different price categories, "said Aleksandr Pertsovskiy, member of the board of Ukrzaliznytsia JSC.
The new second-class carriages will have modern exterior and interior elements. In particular, modern LED lighting, vacuum toilets, sockets with USB ports, as well as a modern air conditioning system will be installed. The design speed of such cars will be 160 km /h, and the service life is at least 30 years.
Applications for participation in the tender will be accepted by Ukrzaliznytsia JSC until February 2, 2022, the auction will be held on March 10, 2022. All carriages of the company must be delivered later than December 31, 2023.
In addition, Ukrzaliznytsia plans to order another 70 sitting-type carriages at the expense of the State budget. The company is currently finalizing the technical requirements for them and a corresponding tender will be announced shortly.
Recall that the Verkhovna Rada adopted the State Budget of Ukraine for 2022, which provides, among other things, for the purchase of new cars.
The company will also continue to replenish its passenger car fleet under an agreement signed last year, and will receive 80 sleeping cars. Thus, by agreement with PJSC "KVSZ", by July 2022, JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" will receive 36 compartment cars, 7 compartment cars, 20 compartment cars for transporting passengers with disabilities in a wheelchair, as well as 17 compartment cars with a compartment for the head of the train and the possibility of transportation passengers with disabilities in a wheelchair.
