the Danish energy Agency granted Nord Stream AG 2 the construction permit section of the gas pipeline on the continental shelf of Denmark South-East of Bornholm in the Baltic sea. This is stated a press release from the Agency Wednesday. a Permit issued in accordance with the Law on the continental shelf and in accordance with Denmark's obligations under the UN Convention on the law of the sea. Denmark is obliged to allow the construction of transit pipelines, taking into account resources and the environment and, if necessary, to indicate the route for such pipelines must be laid. the Route specified in the permit are shown in the figure.

2017 2 Nord Stream AG submitted three applications to the Danish energy Agency according to three different routes. 3 April 2017 Danish energy Agency received an application for a permit for the construction of transit pipelines to the South-East of Bornholm in the territorial waters of Denmark and on the continental shelf of Denmark. The company withdrew this application in June 2019.

August 10, 2018 Danish energy Agency received a request for a route to the North-West of Bornholm on the continental shelf. Since this route has caused a number of issues related to the impact on the environment and shipping in March 2019 DEA requested 2 Nord Stream AG to explore the South-Eastern route on the continental shelf.

the Danish energy Agency has considered it preferable for the shortest option where the pipeline bends around the island of Bornholm in the South-East. Thus, the length of the Danish section of the "Nord stream-2" is 147 km.

the Construction of "Nord stream-2" through the waters of Germany and Finland have been completed, Denmark was the last country of the European Union that has not agreed on the route of the "Nord stream-2". The design capacity of "Nord stream-2" — the same as the previously built Nord stream is 55 billion cubic meters per year.
