Innovation DTEK held an event “How XR is Changing the World and Business” for employees of the ID.Community innovation community, directly in virtual reality on the AltspaceVR platform.
Alexander Kostin, DTEK Innovation Manager, spoke about the global practice of using XR (augmented reality) in the B2B segment, as well as about DTEK's experience in this area.
“Innovation DTEK began to study the technology at the end of 2018 - it was then that the idea of creating production trainings in virtual counterparts of objects for hazardous types of work appeared. We were the first Ukrainian companies to start mastering tactile sensations in virtual reality. Currently VR in the company is used for training, digitalization of technical expertise and even for holding events, ”A. Kostin said.
According to him, DTEK trains employees to work at TPPs using a specially designed training and Teslasuit - a smart suit with the function of transmitting tactile sensations in virtual and augmented reality.
"This technology allows you to fully immerse yourself in the production process without being exposed to danger," said A. Kostin.
The Innovation Directorate plans to continue to use AltSpaceVR for events with a large number of people (allows to gather an audience of up to 50 thousand people), as well as the Engage VR platform for staff training, external trainings and workshops.
“As an example, at Engage, lecturers from Oxford University and not only teach. At the moment, we are working on virtual spaces for organizing the work of employees. After all, there are no physical limitations in XR, "A. Kostin emphasized.
