JSC “Dneprotyazhmash” has announced successful mastering of new product – matte ladle. Despite the fact that the company making slag pots and ladles for already several decades, matte ladle has been bade for the first time. The Customer for two such matte ladles of 8 m3 is Pobuzhsky Ferronickel Plant LLC (Ukraine, Kirovohrad region).
Matte is a term used in the field of pyrometallurgy given to the molten metal sulfide phases typically formed during smelting of copper, nickel, and other base metals. Matte ladle is distinguished by two ‘noses’, wall thickness of which is almost 1.5 times more than wall thickness of walls and bottom of the ladle. Presence of two noses allows to shorten number of handling operations during transportation of еру ladle, as well as to prolong its lifetime in case of burnt-out of one of the noses.
It should be noted that the goal of mastering of the matte ladle 8 m3 has been successfully achieved by “Dneprotyazhmash” specialists from the first trial casting. This fact means that all technological phases, as well as wooden pattern made by in-house patterns workshop, has been correctly chosen and performed, and did not require any adjustments.
The company plans to master in the near future matte ladles 5 m3 and 6 m3, which are also very popular through non-ferrous industry companies of CIS countries. In total, during 2011-2019 “Dneprotyazhmash” made 1630 pots and ladles for its Customers from 12 countries. Our product range includes ‘melt-ware’ from 2 m3 to 16.5 m3.
