Electricity transmission tariffs from January 1, 2021 reduced by 6%

At today's meeting of the NKREKP of Ukraine, it was decided to establish tariffs for electricity transmission services at the level of UAH 293.93 per MWh from January 1, 2021. We remind that from December 1, 2020, the tariff for electricity transmission to the level of UAH 312.76 per MWh, therefore, from January 1, 2021, the transmission tariff will decrease by 6%.

The Federation of Employers of Ukraine noted that the adopted tariff is 5.12% less than the one submitted for public discussion and 9% less than provided for by the previously announced draft decision of the NKREKP.

An unjustified increase in the tariff for electricity transmission in 2021 will lead to the loss of thousands of jobs already next year, Oleksandr Kalenkov, President of Ukrmetallurgprom, said at the end of November, adding that if the tariff increases, Ukrainian metal products will become uncompetitive, tens of thousands of workers places will be under threat of reduction.

The Federation of Employers has stated that it has consistently defended and continues to defend the position that the cost of electric energy should be a competitive advantage for Ukrainian producers, so that those adopted by the authorities aimed at making it cheaper can and will contribute to the growth of the competitiveness of Ukrainian products, both domestically and in foreign markets.
