By the end of the year, the state concern Ukroboronprom will open a register of real estate available for rent. The register will contain a detailed description of surplus assets that are not involved in the production processes of the enterprises of the concern, and therefore can be leased out in a transparent and open way.
The structure of "Ukroboronprom" includes 116 enterprises (another 21 - in the occupied territory), which own 7,441 real estate objects with a total area of almost 9 million square meters. More than 1,850,000 squares of them are surplus property that has not been used in the production processes of the concern's enterprises for a long time.
To increase transparency and efficiency in the management of surplus assets, the concern has created a register on the lease of state property, where it systematized information from participating enterprises. These are mainly buildings or structures and premises for offices. So, in the register it will be possible to see a list of objects available for rent, their detailed description, location, purpose, lease term, contacts for feedback.
According to the register, as of November 2020, the enterprises of Ukroboronprom totaled about 380 thousand square meters for rent, which is more than 250 objects.
The proceeds from the lease will be used for the development of the concern's enterprises, which own these real estate objects - for the technical re-equipment and modernization of production facilities, the payment of wage arrears and consumed utilities, if any.
“The public opening of the register of surplus real estate of defense enterprises for the purpose of its further lease is one of the most effective measures to counter schemes for illegal withdrawal and seizure of state assets. All promising (investment) objects should be leased out as openly and transparently as possible, ”said Mustafa Nayem, director for assets, corporate rights and DOZ of Ukroboronprom Group.
