The first 2 of 6 fires of the Dutch company EemsWerken B.V. went to the Kherson shipyard of Smart Maritime Group for modernization.

The EEMS Servant and EEMS Solar vessels will be upgraded under a related contract signed at the end of 2020.

Each fire will be lengthened by 12 meters, it will become two-hold with an increase in deadweight by an average of 20%.

As part of this event, the Kherson shipyard was visited by the director of EemsWerken Gertjan Kornet and the superintendent of the project Ron Stroo. The guests inspected the workshops of the plant, examined the already made sections and expressed satisfaction with the quality of the work.

“We are glad to be here and look forward to successful modernization of six vessels, which will further lead to a long-term partnership with the shipyard,” said Gertyan Kornet.

“For us, this is a very important stage because over the past 10 years, this is the first new customer from Europe,” noted Dmitry Krasnikov, CEO of SMG.
