Ukrainian railway workers gathered in 2021 to implement a significant amount of work to upgrade railway tracks. In particular, it is planned to reconstruct more than 316 km of tracks and more than 82 km to be overhauled.
The current plans for updating the track infrastructure significantly exceed the actual volume of work performed in 2020, when 112.6 km were reconstructed and 48.1 km of tracks were overhauled.
In addition, the railroad workers will carry out other current repairs of the track and update the turnouts.
It is assumed that the track works will be carried out on directions with heavy train traffic, in particular Darnitsa - Grebenka, Kiev - Fastov - Zhmerynka - Vapnyarka - Odessa, Znamenka - Odessa, Mironovka - Pyatikhatki - Chaplino, Kazatin - Shepetovka - Zdolbunov, Krivoy Horn-Main - Kamysh-Zarya - Volnovakha - Mariupol, Lviv - Stryi - Chop, etc.
These measures to update the track infrastructure will allow Ukrzaliznytsia to guarantee the safety of transportation and ensure the movement of trains at the set speeds.
Recall that in 2021 Ukrzaliznytsia plans to invest over UAH 27 billion in renovation, overhaul, modernization of rolling stock and infrastructure.
